Creighton Beats North Dakota
Jays Move to 8-3
Omaha, NE - The Creighton Bluejays played their home opener on Thursday...sort of. The Jays were forced to play at the CU Sports Complex while they waited for the snow to melt at TD Ameritrade.
The Jays were unphased. They defeated North Dakota 4-1. The biggest play of the game happened in the bottom of the sixth. Creighton's Fredrico Castagnini layed down a bunt in front of homeplate. A wild throw over third base allowed the two runners on base to score and Castagnini to score as well. The three-run error gave Creighton a 3-1 lead and they never looked back.
The win improved Creighton's record to 4-1.
