Jays PG Thriving In New Role
Chatman Taking Over At Point Guard For Creighton
Omaha, NE - Creighton Head Coach Greg McDermott knew exactly what he was going to get out of four returning starters from last year's team. A Jays squad that won the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship, in large part because of Point Guard Antoine Young.
Young has since moved on from Creighton, leaving the starting Point Guard position to Austin Chatman, a Sophomore from The Colony, Texas.
Chatman has thrived in his new role as the Jays floor general, averaging 8.3 points and 4.7 assists per game. He's done it all for Creighton. The Jays are off to a 14-1 start, 3-0 in the Missouri Valley and welcome the Drake Bulldogs to town tomorrow.
