McDermott Earns Valley Player Of The Week Again
Omaha, NE - It was another big weekend for the Creighton Bluejays. They traveled out west and beat California by ten. It was one of their best defensive performances of the season. They overcome an off night shooting by holding Cal's top offensive player to just 6-26 shooting.
The Jays also got a huge effort from Doug McDermott. He lit up the Golden Bears for 34 points and nine rebounds. That performance earned him his fourth Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week award. It's the third time in four weeks he's been honored by the Valley.
The win helped the Jays remain steady in the Coaches' Poll where they are still ranked 13th. In the Associated Press poll they fell one spot to 17th.
