Nebraska Wins The Legends Divsion
Huskers Beat Hawkeyes
Iowa City, IA - On a cold, blustery day the Huskers went to their ground game early and often. It was an old-fashioned, low-scoring slugfest between the border rivals Nebraska and Iowa.
In the end it was the Huskers defense that made enough plays to help the Huskers round out Big 10 play with a stellar 7-1 mark. Daimion Stafford's interception helped flip field position and eventually lead to a Rex Burkhead touchdown. The Burkhead score put the Huskers up 13-7.
It was a lead Nebraska would never relenquish. Eric Martin hounded the Hawkeyes all game long. He racked up seven tackles, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a sack. He harassed James Vandenberg into completing less than fifty percent of his passes. He also helped bring pressure on the game-sealing interception by Alonzo Whaley.
Nebraska now moves on to the Big 10 Championship game where a they will face Wisconsin in a rematch of an earlier game.
