Nebraska Escapes East Lansing With A Win
Martinez Leads Another Fourth Quarter Comeback
East Lansing, MI - For the third time this season the Huskers rallied from a double-digit second half defecit to take down a conference foe. The cardiac Huskers trailed 24-14 in the fourth quarter before Taylor Martinez marched them down the field twice for touchdowns.
The first touchdown was a 35-yard scamper. It was just a small sampling of the huge game Martinez put together on the ground. Martinez ran for over 200 yards against a Michigan State defense that was only allowing 91 yards rushing per game.
The final touchdown came at the end of a drive that the Huskers started in their own territory with under two minutes remaining and no timeouts left. Martinez calmly drove the Huskers into scoring position including a key 38-yard pass to Kyler Reed on 4th and 10 near midfield. With six seconds left Martinez hit Jamal Turner in the endzone to give Nebraska their third straight conference win.
During the game Martinez broke Eric Crouch's school record for total yards in a career. Nebraska will now return home for a game with Penn State. The Huskers are three wins away from claiming a spot in the Big Ten Championship game.
