Nebraska Shuts Down Michigan
Huskers Take Control Of The Legend's Division
Lincoln, NE - The Huskers much maligned defense took advantage of a Denard Robinson injury to completely shut down the Michigan Wolverines. The Blackshirts held the Wolverines without a touchdown and under 200 total yards.
It was a dominating performance on the defensive side of the football. They picked off three passes and generally terrorized Michigan back-up quarterback Russell Bellomy. Robinson's understudy only managed to complete three passes out of his sixteen attempts against the Husker defense. The Nebraska "D" applied constant pressure. They ended up with one sack and nine tackles for loss.
On offense the Huskers never completely hit their groove, but they did do enough to pull out the win. Nebraska racked up 326 total yards with a balanced attack that featured 160-plus yards on the ground and through the air.
Sophomore running back Ameer Abdullah racked up 109 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Taylor Martinez accounted for 240 total yards, and nine different players caught passes for the Huskers.
Next week Nebraska will travel to Michigan State. The Husker's Big Ten destiny rests in their own hands. If they win out they will go to the Big Ten Championship game.
