Lincoln,NE - Nebraska had three turnovers in Evanston against Northwestern. Taylor Martinez came to the rescue with two, fourth quarter drives that led to the eventual game winning touchdown pass to Ben Cotton. The Huskers improved to 2-1 in Big Ten action, one game behind Michigan for the Legends Divsion lead.
Head Coach Bo Pelini said his team had to win the remaining games on their schedule in order to ensure a trip to the Big Ten Championship in December. After admitting his team has to clean up several problem areas, the Huskers goal of a conference championship is still out there to achieve.
