Young Plays His Last Game
Creighton Says Goodbye To One Of The Greats
Omaha, NE - When the final whistle sounded on Sunday it signaled the end of a magical season for the Creighton Bluejays. It also signified the end of Antoine Young's collegiate career.
The Jays will return nine of their top ten players next season, but they will miss one of the greatest point guards in Creighton history. The former Bellevue West standout racked up the sixteenth most points in school history. His 505 assists ranks third all-time in the Bluejay record books. He also quarterbacked the Bluejays to 29 wins in his senior season. Those 29 wins tie a single-season record at Creighton.
Young is a two-time All-MVC second team selection. He also led the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio in back-to-back seasons. The Bluejays appear to have a promising replacement in freshman Austin Chatman, but he will have some very big shoes to fill. Chatman is following one of the best point guards in program history.
