The 2017 commitment list continues to grow for the Husker’s as they land in-state recruit Austin Allen. Allen is a 6-foot-8, 230-pound tight end from Aurora, Nebraska. In Allen’s junior season with Aurora, the Huskies made an appearance in the Class B state championship game. Allen played both tight end and linebacker.

According to Rivals.com, Allen was at the Husker’s practice facilities for Nebraska’s final spring practice when he gave Mike Riley his verbal commitment. Allen then announced his commitment to the public via Twitter shortly after.

Mike Riley also reacted to the commitment via Twitter.

Allen had offers from Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, and Central Florida. Allen is the fifth commitment for the 2017 recruiting class, but the first in-state recruit of the season. The Huskers currently have the 26th ranked recruiting class according to Rivals.com.
