In a battle of top teams in Class B Thursday night, No. 4 Skutt Catholic got back to its winning ways with 30-7 victory over No. 2 Gretna.

The Skyhawks dropped two of their last three games coming into Thursday, including a disappointing 31-15 loss to Elkhorn last week, but bounced back in a big way to improve to 3-2 this season.

"It restores some confidence," said Matt Turman, Omaha Skutt head coach. "Beating a quality team and a highly ranked team like Gretna gives us some confidence going into the season and hopefully into the playoffs."

Gretna entered Thursday's contest undefeated at 4-0, but hadn't played a ranked opponent yet this season.

"It looked more like Skutt football in the past few years," Turman said.
