Huskers' Jessica Shepard claims Preseason All-Big Ten Honor

Nebraska's sophomore Jessica Shepard earned a spot on the Preseason All-Big Ten Women's Basketball Team, the team is chosen by the conference coaches and media for the 2016-17 season. During her first year as a Husker Shepard earned first-team All-Big Ten, averaged a team best 18.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, claimed Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Year and started 29 games to help the Huskers to an 18-13 overall record.

Shepard inked her name into Nebraska history last season, she became the first Nebraska player in history to earn first-team all-conference honors as a true freshman, Nebraska's first Big Ten Freshman of the Year, first Husker in history to produce a 30-point, 20-rebound performance. Shepard also set a conference record by capturing 10 Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Week awards and was a two-time USBWA National Freshman of the Week.

Shepard and the Huskers' start up the season at home Sunday, November 6th against Southwest Baptist.
