An online fundraiser is underway to help a former Husker football player get a motorized wheelchair.

61 year old Budge Porter of Omaha suffered a neck injury while tackling running back I.M. Hipp during a spring practice in 1976 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. After 40 years of pushing a manual wheelchair, his body is wearing down and doctors have prescribed a motorized wheelchair. However, the high insurance deductable and costs have made it difficult for Porter to afford the new wheelchair. Porter's family and friends have set up an account on the crowdfunding website RedBasket.org and are hoping to raise $20,000 to help him pay for the out-of-pocket expenses for the motorized wheelchair and his medical bills
