How does severe weather affect the College World Series?

 As the grounds crew rolls out the tarp over the diamond, it may be time to brush up on what procedures are in place at TD Ameritrade Park in case of severe weather.

MECA’s Director of Communications Kristi Anderson said MECA works with several weather monitoring services, as well as an on-site meteorologist to give fans advanced warning if severe weather is approaching. When a weather event does occur, information regarding where to go to take cover can be found on the video board and will be broadcasted over the PA system.

Anderson said MECA’s staff is trained to direct fans to safe shelter inside the stadium. MECA also has plans to open up the CenturyLink Center for fans in need of shelter.
