OPPD is now reporting via its outage page that more than 17,000 are without power after a strong winter storm pushed through the area.

The outage shows the majority of those are in Douglas county, where more than 13,000 are in the dark.

"The number of outages is rising as the snow piles up," OPPD spokeswoman Paula Lukowski said.

Lukowski tells KMTV Action 3 News that customers can assist by making sure to call in if they lose power.

"We are out there and we are working," Lukowski said. "We won't stop until they are all back online."

How to report an outage:

  • OPPD.com
  • 1-800-554-6773
  • Download the mobile app
