This holiday season, a fourth grader is teaching a lesson in giving.
A student at Prairie Lane School has called on the community to help other children her age and they're answering.

4th grader Adelyn Paul has a big heart and a big collection of stuffed animals. Bears, dogs, you name it. But these aren't for her. They're for other kids.
“Me and my dad were talking about what I wanted to pray for and I said the children in the hospital during Christmas and special occasions, " Addy said.
Why? "Because they are alone in the hospital because they're sick and no one wants to be around them so they are missing out on all the fun of special occasions,” Addy added.
This little gal got to work, petitioning her classmates at Prairie Lane School to help.
“You know she is a shy little thing for the most part but she just talked and talked and she just lights up when she talks about this project,” said Beth Welke, Principal at Prairie Lane School
Addy started last week, her goal is to get a couple hundred stuffed animals to give to children at area hospitals.
“The donations have poured in far beyond prairie lane. Folks have come from as far as Bellevue and Fremont to donate to Addy's cause, putting them so far well over their initial goal,” said Welke.
As these two used their elementary math, they hit a new goal.
The Westside school board recognized little Addy this week, but she says the real reward is still to come, and that'll come when she gets to drop off all she has collected.
Addy says anyone can donate, just drop off a stuffed animal or blanket at Prairie Lane Elementary by Friday.
