The city of Council Bluffs wants its residents to party hard.

Wednesday, Mayor Matt Walsh announced the city's 100 Block Parties event.

In 2015, thousands of Council Bluffs residents took part in surveys, workshops and focus groups aimed to help the mayor's office build a new image for Council Bluffs.

That lead to the city's UN campaign. And now, the block party challenge. From tailgates to community hangouts, the city is helping by getting raffles, t-shirts, and more to those hosting and participating.

To participate:

-Your event should bring 10 or more people together in a common space.
-Common spaces can be indoor or outdoor.
-Try to invite one or more people you don't know or don't know well.
-Register your event online.
