Man Accused of Shooting Daughter's Boyfriend
Medics took 21-year-old to hospital in critical condition
Bennet, NE - Deputies arrested a southeast Nebraska man after they say he shot his daughter's boyfriend.
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says 50-year-old Michael Kinney shot 21-year-old Jeffery Stotler, Jr. in the chest and stomach with a .22-caliber rifle. Medics took Stotler to the hospital in critical condition. Deputies arrested Kinney on suspicion of assault and using a weapon to commit a felony.
Deputies say the shooting happened in the backyard of Kinney's home. They say Stotler had been fighting with Kinney's daughter before the shooting happened.
