Babysitter Arrested For Child's Death
Omaha, NE - Police arrested an Omaha woman Monday in connection with the death of a child. Elizabeth Harding is accused of child neglect resulting in death. She was babysitting one-year-old Chase Hunter last month, when he died at her home.
Investigators say Harding put the toddler into a car seat without buckling the harness. Chase managed to shuffle himself in the seat, wrapping the harness around his neck, strangling him.
In a statement from the family attorney after their son's death, the Hunters said they are devastated by Chase's untimely and unimaginable death and they will look to determine the responsible party at fault for the loss of their son so this does not happen to another family.
No one answered the door at Harding's home Monday, the same home where police say she ran a daycare without a license.
