Early Voting Starts Monday

Omaha, NE-Omaha voters can start voting tomorrow in the primary election. Election day is April second, but some already have their mind on voting early.

"I am going to vote.,"Michela Tsar said. "I don't think you can deny how good the city is doing. How great we've been doing through the poor economic times of the last four years. I'm really looking forward to the debates."

"You used to hear that a vote doesn't make that much of a difference, well I said that if everybody thought that way we wouldn't get good people elected. It's very important to get out and vote, every one of us needs to vote," Rob Babel said.

The ballot includes the race for Omaha mayor, the city council, and board of education. All early voting for elections like these occur 15 days prior to election day.

You can vote early by mail or in person at the Douglas County Election Commission office . If you're registered, you can can request an early voting ballot be mailed directly to you. You can also have someone pick up a ballot for you prior to the election.

The Douglas County Election Commission has also established four drop box locations to give voters an opportunity to return their early voting ballots without having to use the mail. There is also a drop box located outside the Election Commission office.

All early votes boxes will accept ballots until 8:00p.m. election day.
