Bald Eagle Shot and Killed in Nebraska

Beatrice, NE - Federal investigators are looking for the person who killed a bald eagle near Beatrice. A landowner found the eagle last month in a field.

Bald eagles are protected under federal law.  Shooting an eagle is a violation of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

Anyone with information should call the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at 402-419-4855.  A reward will be paid for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.  The Nebraska Wildlife Crimestoppers is also offering a reward.  That number is 1-800-742-7627.
