Stay Away! Project Calls for Three Big Blasts in Omaha
Omaha, NE- Three big blasts are planned for the area of 3rd and Pierce and the city is asking you to stay away during the explosions.
The blasts will allow contractors to have access to the bottom of a 30-foot deep hole. It's part of the CSO program - an unfunded, federally mandated program to reduce the number of raw sewage overflows into area rivers and streams.
The blasts are scheduled for March 13th, 15th and 18th all starting at 4:00 p.m.
During the time period immediately before the blast, beginning at 3:50 p.m. Pierce Street east of 5th Street and 2nd Street north of Hickory Street will be temporarily closed. The street will re-open at 4:05 p.m.
