Creighton Wins The MVC Title
Jays Go Back-to-Back
St. Louis, MO - The Creighton Bluejays pulled off the double this afternoon. Their 68-65 win over Wichita State in the MVC Championship game gave them the conference touranment title to go with their regular season title.
The Jays picked up huge efforts from their role players on a day when Doug McDermott was held to just 14 points. Jahenns Manigat scored 16 points with five rebounds and three assists. Gregory Echenique also delivered with a nine point, eleven rebound, and six block performance. Ethan Wragge drilled five three-pointers, and Grant Gibbs handed out seven assists. It was a total team effort in Creighton's biggest game of the year.
The win secured the Jays automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. It could also give them a nice boost in the NCAA tournament seeding. They will find out next Sunday exactly where they are seeded and who they will play in the dance.
