DNA Tests Confirm Fire Deaths
Bellevue, NE - Almost two weeks after a fire that killed two people in Bellevue, the Sarpy County Sheriff has confirmed an eight-year-old boy and his grandmother died.
The fire in the family's trailer home was so destructive, DNA tests were needed to identify 66-year-old Sandra Nielsen and her grandson Devin Nielsen.
An investigation by the Bellevue Fire and Police departments, the Sarpy County Sheriff and the State Fire Marshall determined the fire started near a space heater in the living room.
Other members of the family escaped from the fire.
