OMAHA, Neb. – People living east of 72nd Street should have had their cars parked on the right side of the street as of 12:01 a.m. Friday or they risked being ticketed.

The city began enforcing its snow emergency parking regulation starting at midnight Friday. That means cars need to be parked on the even side of the street on even days and on the odd side on odd-numbered days.
Drivers that ignore the regulation could be ticketed. City officials said this is imperative to get streets clean and salted.
At least 20 cars and nearly a dozen buses were stuck on a hill on an unsalted street at 52nd and Dodge Thursday evening. Private contractors had to come in and push cars to the other side of the street. They also had to use chains to drag the buses up the hill.
No one was injured in the incident.
