Nebraska Teen Dies in I-80 Crash
State Patrol Urges Safety During Storm
Lincoln, NE - A 19-year-old driver from Callaway died in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 80 near Giltner, in Hamilton County.
The Nebraska State Patrol says winter weather conditions contributed to the accident. The driver of a SUV lost control, crossed the median and hit a Saturn driven by 19-year-old Kristina Leigh Anne Allen. Allen was killed, the driver of the SUV survived. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
State Patrol Superintendent urges caution as the winter storm develops. "With this winter storm, road conditions can change rapidly," says Colonel David Sankey. "It doesn't take much to make your travel treacherous."
Drivers can get travel information at 511.nebraska.gov or dial 511.
