Authorities Find Body Floating in Youngman Lake
Passerby called 9-1-1 after noticing "unidentified object"
Omaha, NE - Police recovered a body at Youngman Lake near 192nd and Dodge Wednesday night. Officers were called to the lake around 5:30 p.m. for an unidentified object. They later discovered there was a body floating in the water.
Douglas County Sheriff Deputies, the dive team, along with Omaha police pulled the body from the lake. At this point the coroner is working to identify the body - that could take at least 48 hours depending on how badly decomposed the person is.
Che Dressen went missing four months ago. Authorities found her car near the lake but her body was never found. Officers are not sure whether the body they found tonight belongs to Dressen. "We're not gonna make any speculation on to anything right now. We're going to make sure we do identify the body and follow the process that we always follow to make sure the investigations thorough and complete," Officer James Shade said.
Omaha police say the Dressen family is concerned the body found may be their loved one. The coroner is expected to perform an autopsy tomorrow.
