Authorities Investigating Death of Toddler
PACIFIC JUNCTION, Iowa - Police in Pacific Junction are trying to figure out how a baby died.
On Friday, 13-month-old Aliyanna May was found unresponsive at her mother's home.
Medics took her to Nebraska Medical Center with extensive injuries. Aliyanna died in intensive care on Saturday.
On Wednesday, KMTV went to the mother's home. The family said Aliyanna's father is visiting from Kansas. He said he wasn't ready to talk about what happened to his daughter.
The investigation into how Aliaynna died is not complete, but the Iowa State Medical Examiner has completed an autopsy. Police are waiting for those results.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is helping with the case.
The lead investigator said they expect those results in in the next few days, and then they will release more information.
