BREAKING: One Dead, Another Critical After North Omaha Shooting
Police have no motive or suspects
NORTH OMAHA - Police were on scene for hours after a shooting at 41st and Ames Tuesday night.
Officer James Shade says Willie Hill, 32, and Xavier Goodes, 36, were walking down 41st Street just before 5:30 p.m. when they were shot multiple times.
"As soon as officers arrived on the scene they located a victim (Hill) laying in the street with gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Medical Center via squad with CPR in progress. He later succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital," he added.
A family or friend took Goodes to Creighton. He was in critical condition and was being interviewed by police Tuesday night. He is expected to survive.
Omaha PD is looking for a white sedan, maybe a Taurus. They say it was in the area at the time of the shooting.
They aren't saying if it was a drive by or if the shooter got in the car and drove off. They have no suspect or motive.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402.444.STOP.
Eastbound Ames Avenue at 42nd Street was blocked off as police collected evidience.
