OMAHA, NE -   The dubious distinction comes from a group of bloggers that is not located in the Omaha area.

The intersection in question is where 132nd St., Industrial St., Millard Ave. and "L" St. meet.

"It's kind of like a blind monkey put tape on a paper," said Dan Weis, who drives through the intersection twice a day. "That's how I look at it because everything is on an angle here."

According to Streetsblog.org, a group that writes about safe streets, the design made the intersection the worst in the country for pedestrians.

Bloggers asked readers to submit their nominations. Not only did the area make the list, but readers agreed it is the worst.

It points to the few sidewalks, the lack of crosswalks and the nearly 30 lanes of traffic as contributing factors.

And drivers don't seem to like it either.  "I just try to avoid it as much as I possibly can," said driver Ron Hartnett. "I took 120th St. then came around the back way so I wont have to get involved with all the traffic, turning and all that kind of stuff."

While some avoid the area, others like Weis said there is no good way to get through here.

"They're flipping a coin on their life," said Weis. "That's why I don't ride a bike or walk around this intersection."
