FIRST ON 3: Isaac Pfeifer Shares His Story
As he progresses at a rehabilitation hospital, an entire community is ready to welcome him home.
LINCOLN - Three months ago, a football game changed a family's life. Norfolk Catholic linebacker Isaac Pfeifer made a tackle and went down. He hasn't had feeling from the chest down ever since. But Pfeifer is determined to walk again.
For the first time since that November night, Pfeifer is talking about the injury, his rehab and his hopes for the future. He also describes the textbook tackle that changed his life forever.
"I didn't black out or anything," he said. "I just fell to the ground. It took me a while to realize I couldn't move anything. It was pretty scary so I just laid there."
Thursday night on KMTV Action 3 News at 10, you'll hear Pfeifer's emotional story from himself, his family and his friends. We'll also visit his hometown. From signs of encouragement in the halls of his high school, to rebuilding the Pfeifer family home, volunteers are giving the phrase "home team advantage" a whole new meaning.
