Omaha, NE -  About a dozen crews were out spreading a brine mixture, pre-treating Omaha roads around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Public Works Engineer Scott McIntyre said dozens more are on standby, expecting the snow overnight to accumulate.

Crews are working around the clock in 12 hour shifts in the city limits of Omaha.

"We're in the process of loading up with rock salt," Foreman Cory Sanchez said Tuesday evening.

Crews will go out on the main streets through the night and secondary routes in the early morning hours.

Omaha has about 100 additional trucks on standby. Douglas County has more than 40 trucks on standby, and the Nebraska Department of Roads has 60 trucks inside and around the city limits of Omaha waiting for the storm.
