Immigration Reform Would Impact Nebraskans
Obama expected to announce his plan soon
Omaha, NE - After one term in office, President Obama is expected to push for immigration reform. Omaha attorney Sylvia Rodriguez specializes in immigration cases in the metro. She's expecting this issue will get much hotter within days.
Rodriguez says, "They're either on one side of the issue or the other and it's hard to meet somewhere in the middle and I guess there is no middle in this issue." An estimated 11-million illegal immigrants are now calling the U.S. Home including some here in Nebraska. Rodriguez says she's seen cases in Omaha in which somebody has lived in the metro for decades but can not legally work, drive or get public assistance.
