Omaha, NE -- All some families want for Christmas is to know who killed their loved one, and to have that person behind bars.

In the last 2 months, there have been a total of 6 people murdered and so far no one is in jail for any of them.  The unsolved murders started with 17-year-old Benson High student Eriana Carr being killed outside her home near 35th & Reddick Ave. on October 30th.  The latest was 18-year-old Tre’Veona Smith, who was shot while she was sleeping at her great grandmother's house at 42nd and Browne on December 9th.  Police have not arrested anyone for the last six homicides in Omaha.

Tre’Veona's mother says it doesn't even feel like a holiday because of the void she feels in her heart.

"They need to find the killer who killed my baby.  I want answers; I want to see the killer.  I want to look at him dead in his eyes and ask him why did you do that?" said Tre’Veona’s mother, Delgracious Smith.

Tre’Veona was a senior at Omaha Northwest High School, and was going to graduate in May.  Her mother says she was a good kid who didn't deserve what happened to her.

"I just want justice and I want them to find my baby's killer, but if they don't God has something planned for all of them.  Whoever had something to do with it, God has something planned for them," Delgracious concluded.

Police say witness cooperation is key to solving many crimes.  If you have any information that may help police locate suspects and help find some peace for these families, call OPD Crimestoppers at 402-444-STOP.  You can remain anonymous and there may be a cash reward.
