UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning
The National Weather Service upgraded the weather system Tuesday afternoon.
OMAHA - The National Weather Service has updated the winter weather system from a watch to a warning. That means the conditions are probable or very likely for a winter storm.
KMTV Action 3 Weather Alert Meteorologist Ryan McPike says the snow should start around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon and continue through early Thursday morning. He said wind gusts of 30 miles per hour or higher could make for whiteout conditions.
McPike says the metro could see anywhere from four to eight inches of snow. Even after the snow stops falling early Thursday morning, whiteout conditions could remain a problem with the high winds.
