OMAHA, NE-- For those dreaming of a white Christmas, perhaps this wish isn't as strong as with snow plow drivers.  The clear skies are bad news for independent plow drivers not hired by the city.  Employees at Swanson Landscape at 35th and Arbor Street rely on the inclement weather for an income and with no snow they have no money coming in.

The trucks inside Swanson Landscaping have been maintained, cleaned and and are ready to hit the streets.  But it hasn't snowed, meaning the seventeen employees under Swanson must find other income.  Owner Denis Swanson says the good weather has forced some of his men to start collecting unemployment.

"This year here it's looking pretty lean already about the middle of December and with nothing on the front there, nothing on the horizon, its looking pretty bleak."  Swanson says if the weather continues to be snow free, he may have to resort to selling off some of his equipment in order to pay the bills.

One thing keeps his hopes high, for clients wanting yard work done, he is still available.  He can clean, plant and do anything until it snows.  Swanson also keeps his fingers crossed, he says it's early in the season and the weather could still come.
