Bank President Uses Gun
Omaha State Bank president shows off gun at work
Omaha NE- He's a well known bank president, Michael Dahir, and he's accused of bringing an unloaded handgun to work. He says he wanted to show it off. To at least one of his employees, the way he handled the gun was threatening.
Dahir is on leave while the Omaha State Bank board investigates claims made by one of their employee's. That employee filed a police report claiming Dahir had a heated discussion with her over a decision she made at the bank. According to his attorney, Dahir left the bank and returned nearly ninety minutes later with a gun.
Dahir would not give us a comment but his attorney, Dave Domina, told Action 3 News Dahir wanted to show off his new gun to a long time friend and coworker. "An innocent lack of judgment," Domina describes his clients decision.
According to the police report, Dahir has been cited with making terrorist threats. The employee who made the complaint told police she noticed a laser on her chest and forehead, when she looked up she saw her supervisor pointing a gun at her. During that time someone inside the bank had dialed 911.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said this case is still under investigation. If Dahir is found guilty he could face felony charges.
