Iowa on Alert for Swine Flu
Cedar Rapids, IA - An Iowa child diagnosed with a swine flu virus has state health officials on alert.
The child, in Cedar County, was diagnosed with a strain of flu identified as H3N2V, a virus normally found in pigs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed the report.
Doctors are being asked to test patients with flu symptoms for the virus.
Three other Iowa children had the same flu strain last year, all three recovered.
