Teen Killed in Crash on Gravel Road
PRESCOTT, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa teenager is dead and another was hospitalized after a rollover crash in southwest Iowa.
A 16-year-old was killed Friday in a crash northeast of Prescott. The teenager was a passenger in a van driven by a 17-year-old. Both teens are from Creston.
The Iowa State Patrol says neither teen was wearing a seatbelt. They were traveling west on a gravel road in a 2002 Honda van. Authorities say the driver lost control coming over a hill and over-corrected. The van went partially into a north ditch, and a second over-correction sent the van into a south ditch, where it rolled.
The 16-year-old was thrown from the van, and died at the scene. The driver was taken to Adams County Hospital in Corning.
