Recount May Be Needed in OPPD Race

Dodge and Barrett Fight for Board Seat

Omaha, NE - A recount could be necessary to decide who won a seat on the OPPD Board of Directors.

Tom Barrett is leading current board chairman N.P. Dodge by only 36 votes. The Douglas County Election Commissioner will count votes on approximately 4,000 provisional ballots.

Two seats are open on the board, Mike Cavanaugh finished first, Dodge and Barrett are vying for the second seat.

Election Commissioner Dave Phipps will certify the results of the November election next week. If a recount is necessary, that will take place in December.
