Hagel to Endorse Bob Kerrey
The Nebraska Republican Throws Support to the Democrat
Omaha, NE - Democrat Bob Kerrey will pick up a big endorsement from a Nebraska republican heavyweight.
A spokesperson for the Kerrey campaign confirmed to KMTV Action 3 news Wednesday night that Chuck Hagel will formally endorse Kerrey Thursday afternoon. Hagel is a former U.S. Senator. His support comes as recent polls show the once-wide gap between Kerrey and republican Deb Fischer is narrowing. The latest Omaha World Herald poll gave Fischer a three point lead.
Fischer on Wednesday said her internal polling still puts her at a double-digit lead. But she did admit the gap is narrowing.
Hagel was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996, where he served until 2008.
