Council Bluffs IA - Registered students and teachers at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs fill out a ballot.  The ballots are fake but their opinions are real.  It's part of the Iowa mock election and allows students to express their opinions.  The students at Thomas Jefferson are not just learning about politics, they're actively shaping their own ideas.  They find and share what's important to them.  Teens discuss the big issues in Washington DC and local politics including student loans and gay marriage.  The goal is to get youth involved now, so when they're eligible to vote, they'll also be knowledgeable of what they're voting for.
