Possible Serial Robber Arrested
An arrest and clothing may be the key to a string of metro armed robberies.
Mark Anderson was arrested for one count of Felony Robbery. A search warrant indicates he admitted to robbing the Cubby's Gas Station on Mormon Bridge Road in July. Police also confiscated a number of items possibly worn in these crimes including a purple scarf, described in at least 3 of them. The search warrant went on to say Anderson said he'd tell them about several other metro robberies if he'd get immunity. Authorities couldn't promise him that.
Betsy Brewer manages the Cubby's Gas Station at Mormon Bridge Road and Interstate 680 that was robbed at gunpoint in July.
"I think it's great, I think it's great. I hope they catch the other guy because there were two of them." Brewer explained. "Every night I come in early because my overnight person is still leery, even though she did hear they caught one."
The warrant states Anderson told police he and the other suspects would target certain stores because they were "easy", and that’s why they would hit them multiple times.
Anderson is being held on $200,000 bond.
