Iowa Voters Weigh in on Second Debate
Council Bluffs, IA - Going into Tuesday’s debate most polls show Iowa as a tossup state.
So, did anyone's mind change after the final words were said? We wanted to know.
Directly following the debate, some people on the streets of Council Bluffs said the Presidents performance swayed them to vote for him, while others said Mitt Romney looked stronger and more presidential but they’re still undecided.
While that was on the street it was the local viewing parties that had people revved up.
"This is almost like watching a football game and it's great."
And, just like in any good football game the hits came early and often.
Both sides, the Republicans and Democrats, were cheering on their candidates.
Just a few minutes into the debate both camps felt in control.
"He’s doing well, the President, he's actually answering the questions," said Lorene Bliss.
"I think the Governor is doing very well, he's well prepared and he's been working on this campaign for a long time," said Al Ringgenberg.
From their seats you could hear the cheers and jeers aimed at the screen.
Heads were nodding in agreement and disagreement.
With the two tackling questions from undecided voters it seemed as if both camps watching were trying to send vibes to help their choice along.
"Obama keeps dodging the questions, and I think all he's concentrating on is just trying to bash what Romney's plans are," said Kristen Burton.
"How do respond to nothing but negative and not factual comments," said Iowa Democrat Margaret LaBounty. "I mean eventually it doesn't go to well if you always have to say I'm sorry that's not true I'm sorry that's not true."
With undecided voters the target both sides are hoping what was said on stage will resonate with Iowan's in what could be an election game changer.
