Omaha, NE - One day after Republican Congressman Lee Terry unleashed a blistering attack on Democrat John Ewing, Ewing fired back.
The Douglas County Treasurer, who is running for Terry's Congressional seat in District Two, said "he has been in Washington for so long, he just doesn't understand how budgeting works. "
Ewing says he actually delivered budgets over the past five years that saved taxpayers $232,000. In addition, the Treasurer says by reducing his staff from 115 to 94 workers he has saved an additional $1 Million or more.
Terry's campaign manager, Dave Boomer, stood by the claims made on Monday saying " the difference is very simple, Lee Terry has a strong record of cutting spending, John Ewing spends more. " Boomer says more attack ads are on the way.
