Cat Dies after Thrown from Car; Witnesses Shocked
Omaha, NE- Bonner and Julie Bowden know about the bond between a pet and its owner. They've rescued several animals. But what has this couple puzzled and shocked is what happened Friday night. Someone driving down 48th and Dodge tossed a living cat out the window.
Julie Bowden recalls, "It was twirling and twisting on the street and I thought it was trash."
But it wasn't trash. It was a living black cat with a corn chip bag over its head. Bonner and Julie along with another driver stopped to try and help the animal but surviving the impact was impossible.
The Nebraska Humane Society says it will look into the incident. There isn't a license plate number but Bonner says the cat came from a blue older model truck.
