Vandalism To Elementary School: $10,000 Bill
Omaha, NE - Police are looking for vandals who damaged three elementary school air conditioning units sometime after midnight.
The bill to replace the Hillside Elementary units: $10,000.
A spokeswoman for Westside Community Schools says three units on the northeast side of the building were tipped over and one was thrown off the roof. The units are "damaged beyond repair."
Several hallways and classrooms at Hillside were without air conditioning Tuesday.
A classroom window on the northeast side was also shattered and several lighting sconces on portable classrooms broken.
There was no evidence anyone was in the building.
