Heat Causes Schools to Dismiss Early

Record heat--a predicted 97 degrees Wednesday and 98 Thursday--means some kids get to go home from school early.

Here are early dismissals reported to KMTV Action 3 News:

In Omaha, St. Bernadette, St. Peter and Paul, Holy Ghost, Holy Cross and St. Cecelia's will dismiss at 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

In Iowa, some schools dismiss early for the rest of the week. They include East Mills at 1:30 p.m., South Page at 1:15 p.m. and Essex at 1:30 p.m.
