Guilty Verdict in Landlord Murder
Omaha - A Douglas County jury has found Monique Lee guilty of first degree murder and use of a weapon in the death of Karen Jenkins.
Investigators say Lee killed Jenkins two years ago and hid her body under a vacant house near 40th and Ames.
Lee's half-brother was also a part of the killing. He took a plea deal and then refused to testify against his sister. His actions lead to a motion for a mistrial, which was denied.
Lee's first trial ended abruptly when the defense complained about some evidence.
Jenkins was a Metro Community College professor, landlord and business owner.
Lee will be sentenced in November.
