Police: Woman Drunk When She Ran Light With 5 Unrestrained Children
Omaha, NE - Police say she was drunk, ran a red light, and had five unrestrained children in her SUV.
Now 31-year-old Lynette Diaz is facing 17 misdemeanor counts for an accident August 10th.
Police say she ran a red light that afternoon at Park Avenue and Harney. Another driver hit her and Diaz' SUV flipped on its top.
Six people were rushed to the hospital in that accident, including a five-month-old girl who police say suffered a brain hemorrhage.
Court records show Diaz has a history of driving without valid registration, possessing a controlled substance, and not showing up to court. In fact, she was arrested at the accident scene for not showing up to court on another driving charge. She made bond and has been arrested again on the 17 new charges.
