Ashland, NE - Officer Daniel Ottis' funeral Monday has been moved to the Ashland Greenwood High School. More than a thousand people are expected at the 10 a.m. service.

The mayor of Ashland declared Monday as a day of remembrance for Officer Ottis.  The 10-year veteran of the Ashland force died Tuesday night on his way to work. He was riding a motorcycle when a pickup truck crashed into him on Highway 6.  The pickup truck had been rear-ended by another vehicle.

Thursday, Mayor Paul Lienke issued a proclamation, declaring Monday as a day of remembrance and encouraging businesses in Ashland to post the proclamation and to allow employees time off for his funeral.
