Officer Ottis' Funeral Moved To High School
Ashland Mayor Urging Public To Attend
Ashland, NE - Officer Daniel Ottis' funeral Monday has been moved to the Ashland Greenwood High School. More than a thousand people are expected at the 10 a.m. service.
The mayor of Ashland declared Monday as a day of remembrance for Officer Ottis. The 10-year veteran of the Ashland force died Tuesday night on his way to work. He was riding a motorcycle when a pickup truck crashed into him on Highway 6. The pickup truck had been rear-ended by another vehicle.
Thursday, Mayor Paul Lienke issued a proclamation, declaring Monday as a day of remembrance and encouraging businesses in Ashland to post the proclamation and to allow employees time off for his funeral.
